As a general rule, the darker the color of the leaf, the more nutrients it has.

ORGANIC/ pesticide free... Make sure you get other nutrients and vitamins like lean protein, fruits, whole grains, etc.

Lettuce is basically water so it really doesn't matter what type you get.

Leaf lettuce there is no nutritional value what so ever in head lettuce such as iceburg i would suggest a romaine leaf lettuce

All the leafy ones that have lots of green color. romaine.bibb, boston the field greens etc. They are the healthiest. All lettuce is good for dieting but my favorite, iceberg, adds nothing nutritional, even fiber, to the diet.

Organic lettuce is the best. it's a little more expensive but it tastes great, is more healthy, and is better for the environment :D

All lettuce is like 99% water, so you can't do too bad

Lettuce is lettuce is lettuce. you really shouldn't concern yourself with fine details like what kind of lettuce or apples should I eat, simply focusing on not eating garbage foods is good enough for most people, and if you're in hte tiny percentage of people who need ot lose that much weight, you should seek professional help, not Yahoo answers.

Geez, ANY lettuce! Don't go so far with this that you're actually counting calories in types of lettuce. You will screw your body up and it will think it's in famine. Then it will cling on to every calorie it gets for storage, and look for other sources of food, even going so far as to eat your own muscles for energy. Please don't overdo it. It can take a while for your body to recover back to its normal metabolism. Allow yourself at the very least an unlimited amount of ANY vegetable.

Try 'romanian' and 'spagnito' they are fresh and have good nutritional value. Just concentrate on Todd and losing weight. Not lettuuce! Please darling, consider, just dont eat any more garbage okay? haha! You will lose the extra weight

Romain has one of the highest values of vitamins and minerals. The darker the leaf the more nutrition it has, so similar lettuces will be good. Ice burg is the least nutritious. Spinach is a good leafy vegetable with lots of iron and goes good in sandwiches or salads.
